Inovar Autismo

Inovar Autismo – Association of Citizenship and Inclusion – is a non-profit NGO, a Private Institution of Social Solidarity (IPSS) and an effective member of the Portuguese Federation of Autism, created in 2016. Its mission is to promote the inclusion of children, young people and adults with autism in the community, constituting itself as support of excellence in terms of qualification and training of the people on the Spectrum, throughout their life cycle, according to their needs and the needs of their families. The association defends the concept of “society for all”, in which all people, rightfully occupy their place, regardless of their disabilities or functionalities. Inovar Autismo beliefs that working for inclusion is to work in and with the community, it is to be a facilitating and mediating agent for the integration of people with autism in the regular structures.

The main objectives of Inovar Autismo are to support each person with autism and each family, throughout life, enhancing the capacities and skills of people with autism, their families, promote the defense and exercise of the rights of people with autism and their families or legal representatives, promote the self-determination and independent life of people with autism, promote awareness for inclusion and acceptance for disability with the community and in the community.

Since its foundation, Inovar Autismo has developed several inclusive projects with the aim of sensitizing the community, to the inclusion and human rights of people with disabilities, promoting the inclusion of children / young people with autism in activities carried out by regular public and private structures of the community, promoting the awareness and training of the entities to welcome people with and without disabilities, demystifying stereotypes and prejudices, demonstrating to the various stakeholders, including families and organizations, that inclusion is possible even in the most severe cases.

Ana Albuquerque Nogueira

Ana Albuquerque is Graduated in Landscape Architecture by the University of Lisbon (1992), Postgraduate in Urban Environmental Design by Universitiy of Barcelona (2002) and in Multidisciplinary Intervention in Autism by CRIAP Institute (2017). She is the president of the board of Inovar Autismo - Association of Citizenship and Inclusion, a non-governmental organization (since 2017).

Ricardo Nunes

Ricardo Nunes is the vocal administrator of Inovar Autismo. Besides that he works as actor and producer assistant in the theatre group Teatro do Elefante, in Setúbal. Ricardo speaks Portuguese and English.

Joana Simões

Joana is from Luzern, Switzerland, and now lives in Caldas da Rainha, Portugal. She graduated in Arts and New Media by the School of Arts and Design (2009) Caldas da Rainha, and Photography by the Portuguese Institute of Photography (2012) in Lisbon, concluding now a Master in Special Education by the Higher School of Education and Social Sciences (2020).

Andreia Afonso

Andreia joined Inovar Autismo at the end of 2019. Before that she worked at FPDA – Federação Portuguesa de Autismo as Educational Psychologist in the elaboration and implementation of some of the projects carried out by FPDA. She holds a Master in Educational Psychology from ISPA – Instituto Superior de Psicologia Aplicada in Lisbon (Portugal).

Ana Rita Teixeira

Ana Rita Teixeira is graduated in Modern and Contemporary History by ISCTE-IUL (2016). She holds a Master degree in Communication, Culture and Information Technologies – Journalism, by ISCTE-IUL (2018). Curricular internship at Jornal Record, whithin the master´s. She works at Inovar Autismo, as a professional intern, since 2019. Also, she is studying a professional course in Multimedia area, since April 2019.
